The AlphaPlace client is a modification for '''Minecraft Alpha v1.2.6''', it uses the Uberbukkit client to extend/update the multiplayer capabilities of vanilla Alpha v1.2.6, fixing many bugs/vulnerabilities while adding new features. It uses it's own protocol version and is not compatible with normal Alpha v1.2.6 or Beta 1.1_02 servers.

AlphaPlace client features:

* Stutter/jitter fix for far distances
* AlphaPlace zoom (Optifine zoom)
* AMD cloud fix
* Direct AlphaPlace connect button
* In-game texture pack button + texture pack GUI scrollbar
* Improved chat (scrolling, etc.)

* Invisible stair and fences fix
* F3 and F5 toggle (works like modern versions)

* Cave ambience can be heard
* You can now see other people's block breaking progress and the mining (not just on break)
* You can now see sheep sheared status
* General bug fixes and security
* Ghasts sounds & firing animation
* Fireballs can now be seen
* Nether Portal animation & sounds (also for other players nearby) + "entering/leaving the nether" screens
* Paintings now work on the server
* Seed updates on world change, helpful for going to the Skyland or Nether
* the following things no longer happen client-side: grass spread, farmland trampling, crops growth, sapling growth, jukebox spewing ghost discs (potentially more)

When [[OldSpawn4]] got released in March 2021 [[Soosland]]‎‎ was still a very small faction. Initially there were a lot of other factions nearby, but nearly everyone had moved on with other things. Today, there is only [[BroHut2]] and other small factions left. Many of them have become ruins. For example, [[Loginstoon]] by the player [[User:Stoohp|Stoohp]] which is still maintained by {{user|soos_YT}} despite the inactivity.

==== Creation ====
The town was officially founded on March 16. 2021 when [[User:soos YT|soos YT]] wanted to start a new project after soosLand (former faction at oldspawn3). [[User:soos YT|soos YT]] offered all the new players the chance to build buildings protected by the powerful Wall of [[Soosland]].The faction also used to be called susland but has since changed back to Soosland. Many players have joined the faction and built their own structures.

During the construction of [[Soosland]] there was a crisis, the administration decided to remove the shop completely to fix the [[Economy]]. This delayed the construction until a new solution was found to get wood as fast as possible. In the beginning they tried to get the wood faster by creating tree farms but it was too much effort to maintain. Finally a new shop system was introduced, with which wood and other materials could be bought from other players in shops.

The faction has also started to use the free space in Soosland's wall by offering rooms to players. Some players took advantage of the opportunity but most of it is still empty today.

==== The BroHut2 Alliance ====

[[User:soos YT|soos YT]] also took over the most small [[factions]] near by, many buildings were build. Many buildings got updated and rebuilt, also a watchtower got added. Later [[Soosland]] got connectet to the main metro system of [[OldSpawn4]]. The new system brought many new players to the faction. The underground metro leads under the [[OldSpawn4]] and [[BroHut2]].

The faction also got a pool donated by [[BroHut2]] the pool was a gift for our very close cooperation. The pool is also known as Moogers-pool. The word Mooger became known through the [[Discordserver]] of the same name [[MoogersPlace]] where many [[AlphaPlace]] players spent their time on.

In October 2022 [[User:soos YT | soos YT]], [[Mrfofo]] and {{user|minecrafter21341|minecrafter21341}} (better known as lifeisstrange47) decided to make a YouTube video where all three of them built a house for [[Soosland]]. On September 26. 2021, he uploaded a video about the BetaCraft Launcher. In his video, he spoke about BetaCraft and Minecraft servers on older versions, including [[AlphaPlace]]. The video got a lot of attention, and on the same day that the video was released, the server gained a temporary popurlarity spike. Shortly after, Antvenom was also back online and talking to many other players. A lot of players were throwing items at him and chasing him all over the place. {{user|Windows7Ultimate}} gave him the opportunity to place a sign with a message in [[OldSpawn4]].The sign is still in place and can be seen in the upper part of the spawn. Ironically despite being the biggest YouTuber to join the server, the highest amount of players online during the popularity spike was only about 30.
