The first line constructed was the '''W1 Line''' (originally called the A Line), On December 27th, 2023, by {{user|OpticallyTru}}, in which the first four stations were constructed (youngest to oldest): [[Indev]], TonghtMR's Base, Mainland, and Castle.

Around the first week of January, during the construction of Mainland Station and the stations along the W Line (which were all originally part of the once-called A Line, with Mainland Station serving as a transfer station between the originally planned B Line starting in Castle, and the E line, originally part of the once-called A Line), {{user|OpticallyTru}} met {{user|Michek1}}, who was also constructing a railway network at that time, co-established the AlphaPlace Railway Network, beginning construction on Lines R, S, N, and W.

In February 2024 two far-railway lines were built. The first railway line is line W (originally as route C) to [[Oldwild]] and later was built the Railway line to [[Oldspawn]].

Around February and March three players {{user|Minetheground}}, {{user|Junkybaty}}, and {{user|Ostap767}} were building a railway line from Oldpawn5 to Bridgetopia and further to [[OldWild5]] and it was the longest railway line in the server.

In the first week of April the railway line to [[Oldspawn4]] was built.

Unfortunately on 5th AlphaPlace's anniversary at the admin shop many things to sell were removed and the AP Railways project was suspended because with the admin shop rails were collected. After a few changes at the shop the AP's Railways project could be continued and then on 27th April the last 8 km segment of the line A to [[Oldspawn3]] was constructed.

In mid-July {{user|Michek1}} met {{user|PlexRay}} who wanted to build railways. Michek1 advised him to build the railway Line to [[Oldspawn2]] which had been built since 2022 by {{user|DibbleCat}}. Finally on 28th August the segment from [[Germania]] to Line W was finished and the last oldspawn, was connected to the AP Railways's network. Later Plexray also finished the second segment to DibbleCity.

While the AlphaPlace wiki was started, AlphaPlace's railways got new maps with routes' marks. Originally there were two marking systems: "Regional" and "National". The AlphaPlace’s Railways’ maps were confused because at the main map weren't marked all stations so in November {{user|Michek1}} put all maps in one map .While making the map {{user|PurflePL}} advised him to change the marking system on the railway lines. The Railway lines which start from Spawn were marked from cardinal directions and the short railway lines were called from the letter of the line which crossed and a number.

==Intro==
While how minecarts work in alpha 1.2.6 is mostly identical to modern versions, the [https://craftbook.enginehub.org/en/3.x/mechanics/minecart/ CraftBook] plugin makes drastic changed to [[Minecart Mechanics | minecart mechanics]], all of which this page will aim to document.

==Stations==

Stations will stop any minecarts passing over them and, when powered using redstone, give them a large boost. 
To make a station, simply: 
# Write <code>[Station]</code> on the second line of a sign facing in the direction you wish the station to propel a minecart in 
# Place an obsidian block on top of the sign, and 
# Place a rain atop the obsidian block. 
If the sign, obsidian block or rail is powered by a line of redstone the minecart will recive a large boost
===How To Construct A 2-Way Station===
The main limitation of stations is the fact they are only one way, however this can be mitigated using the following simple setup:

This works due to the fact that, to recive the previously mentioned boost, the station does not have to be directly powered meaning line of redstone can power both stations
